Our Honoree Michael Reyes

Michael Reyes was born on Valentine’s Day and grew up in the San Fernando and Antelope Valleys.

As he Grew up, Michael watched his uncles serve in both the Army and Marines. His goal was to be successful in life by joining the military.

In High School, Michael joined the Navy Junior ROTC and in his first year was the only cadet to be able to compete with the Senior Cadet Armed Drill Team.

Just one week after his high school graduation, he entered the Army and was shipped off to boot camp.

After spending a year in Fort Hood, Texas, Michael was deployed to Iraq for 15 months.

Michael’s served over 4 years on active duty and has since served in the Army Reserve. He earned many medals, including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.

After his service, Michael has earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of La Verne and currently is a Manager at Sherwin Williams.

He has recently moved into the final phase of Homes 4 Families’ 78 Home Veteran Enriched Neighborhood in Centre Pointe with his wife Beverly and their children. He and his family provided hundreds of hours in sweat equity and attended enrichment programs to become first-time homeowners and begin moving into the middle class.

Congratulations to honoree Michael Reyes and many thanks to our Board Chair, Hunt Braly, for presenting the award!
