Meet Ulysses Guillebeau

By August 28, 2015 Military Families

Ulysses served in the United States Air Force from 1981-1984. When he moved into his first apartment after being homeless he had nothing but an air mattress, not even a dish to eat off of. Thanks to the community’s support of our Habitat for Humanity ReStore, we were able to help Ulysses furnish his apartment, giving him a bed to sleep in, dishes, a refrigerator, a kitchen table and a sofa.

Ulysses was so grateful for Habitat’s help that he called our store later on to let us know how overwhelmed he was by everything we did for him. He said it was the first time in many years that he feels like he’s “HOME.”

Sadly, there are thousands of other veterans just like Steven who need our help. Are you ready to serve the men and women who have so courageously served for us? Make a 100% tax-deductible contribution today!

You can also serve by volunteering at the Habitat ReStore, located at 9606 DeSoto Avenue in Chatsworth. Contact us at Volunteer@HumanityCA.org to sign up!
